Two long strands of fabric and a whole lot you can do with them. Silks is one of our two entry tracks, built for total beginners, with classes from $30.
Every class starts with a warm-up, then one skill at a time. You’ll learn climbs and wraps close to the ground, and each new skill gets broken into parts until your body holds it. When it’s solid low, you take it higher.
Most students go upside down inside their first few weeks, which is usually the moment silks becomes the thing you think about on the drive home.
Silks is one of two entry tracks at Voler, alongside aerial hoop. You don’t need strength to start, because the class is where the strength comes from. Levels build on each other at your pace, and your instructor moves you up when you’re ready. Trapeze and rope open up as you advance.
I had been looking for something fun and challenging (read NOT BORING) to add to my workout practice.
Nobody does crunches here. The strength shows up anyway, built one climb and one hold at a time, while your attention is on the skill instead of the reps. Weeks in, you’ll catch your reflection mid-climb and wonder when that happened.
The silks are already hanging.
Come find out what you can do with them.
